Yesterday, as most of you should know, was an Independence Day! It was a very weird Independence Day I might add! Actually every Independence Day that we celebrated in this house was weird. No one seem to be celebrating it as we do and our next-door neighbors.
Our next door neighbors are also immigrants from former USSR, and we celebrate Independence Day like it is Christmas. All other houses that surround us are born-in-USA Americans, and they DO NOT celebrate it at all! What’s up with that!?
Yesterday was so humid and cloudy , and by the time the fireworks began it was pouring. The fireworks were not as great as I hoped, but I blame it on the weather. It was foggy and raining.
Anyway! Happy Independence Day! Yes, I am late

Thanks for this thought provoking post. I’ve been wondering whether the USA’s strong drive for independence, is in any way due to the nation’s history – with its pioneers risking all to sail the high seas for an unknown destination.
I’d really like to know what you think.
