I’m Going Organic!

Yes, I am! With the help of a Miracle Book as I like to call it!

Organic foods are actually not some “super” foods, they are natural foods. The same type of food enjoyed by humans for thousands of years until fertilizers and genetic engineering came along.

On June 3rd, I went to my doctor and I told her that even though I exercise and eat, what I thought , a balanced diet I still complain ALL the time about aches here and there, and I’m young!

She did not tell me I need a major blood work done, she just asked me what I ate, and when I began listing the things I eat, she would ask “Organic or not?” I would always say I don’t know because, frankly, I do not! :-/

She told me just to try to eat at least 75% of foods that are organic or natural. She told me to buy buy only meat and poultry products that have “USDA Organic” seal on the package or if they are imported from Europe or Australia/New Zealand.

When I got home, I started researching online, looking for some plan or something to switch to “organic” or rather natural diet and stop filling myself with toxic chemicals. I have come along many free resources and you can find them on the web, but one thing I found was ” How to go Organic or natural in 10 Easy, Affordable Steps ” One of the catchy words in that book’s name is “affordable”! I know it is easy, but i was SCARED that it would be expensive!

That book is a must have for ANYONE who is looking for a comprehensive guide and tips on how to go organic and how to eventually improve the health of everyone in your family! The book is my new Bible ;)

So, I decided to do my very own review/comparison of the two programs that are very popular right now.

yayFOOD and Fat Loss 4 Idiots both have pros and cons. I’d like to explore both of them here.

To begin with, Fat Loss 4 Idiots is undeniably the more popular of the two. It’s been around a lot longer, and quite frankly is marketed a lot better.

However, does that make it better? Let’s explore:

First of all – when you get inside the member’s area for FL4I, you’re greeted with what looks like 20 or so different pages. These are mini-articles. There’s also a diet generator.

The basic concept of Fat Loss 4 Idiots is that you need to eat the same foods over and over – but they mix and match them so that you’re eating different combinations. You can only eat the same 30 foods over and over. Some examples of these foods are garden salad with dressing, green and red vegetables, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, green beans, fresh grapefruit, and broiled flounder.

When you get inside yayFOOD, the member’s area is quite different.

There are calorie calculators, where you type in your height, weight, and exercise level. Depending on your specifics is how they tell you what to eat – which seems to make a lot more sense.

The first benefit of yayFOOD is that you can eat whatever you want – not the boring diet food – although they do give sample meal plans and meal ideas so that you can have some reference. There are even 7 day meal plans that Rachel herself eats. Members add recipes to the Recipe Database all the time, too – so there’s no shortage of variety.

Killing Weeds

I live in my house for 2 and a half years and every summer I have the same problem! On my backyard there is some kind of bush or maybe it is a tree and it spreads so freaking fast! I tried to kill it with all kinds of weeds killers but it still grows! Maybe I have an alien tree/bush? o.O

Few days ago I was hit with an idea! What if I put some Clorox on its roots, will it die? It should! If not, then definitely it is alien! But on the bottle it says that Clorox should only be used as the bottle states, any other use of it is prohibited. I wonder why…

Water is Life

The benefits of drinking water should be obvious to even the most casual observer. Like the Earth, humans and all other animal life are about three-quarters water. That’s no coincidence: water is an abundant and near-magical liquid, probably the most common in the universe, and its special properties make it perfect for handling biological processes and chemical reactions. Independence Day

Yesterday, as most of you should know, was an Independence Day! It was a very weird Independence Day I might add! Actually every Independence Day that we celebrated in this house was weird. No one seem to be celebrating it as we do and our next-door neighbors.
Our next door neighbors are also immigrants from former USSR, and we celebrate Independence Day like it is Christmas. All other houses that surround us are born-in-USA Americans, and they DO NOT celebrate it at all! What’s up with that!? :-/
Yesterday was so humid and cloudy , and by the time the fireworks began it was pouring. The fireworks were not as great as I hoped, but I blame it on the weather. It was foggy and raining.

Anyway! Happy Independence Day! Yes, I am late ;)

And The Heavens Shall Tremble

If you know what a “Primal Evil” is then you probably know what Diablo is as well ;)

Few days ago, Blizzard Entertainment announced that they will be releasing Diablo 3! My jaw dropped right there and right then! Several months ago they have announced that Starcarft 2 was in the making and now Diablo 3! this just makes me wonder how much energy, passion, and imagination those people have for their games (not to mention millions of dollars that those games require to be made).

The cinematic trailers for the games are just exceptionally well done. They are on par with anything Hollywood has recently produced (CG related) The depth of detail is unbelievable. I agree many games are now also make amazing movies for their games, such as Everquest 2 and others, but Blizzard made them first and they made them so good that none are as good anymore.

So, lets get back to Diablo 3. If you go to www.diablo3.com you will no find a lot about the game but the thing that the site exists is exciting. Yes, the game will most likely come out next year, but it is worth all the way. New graphics are unbelievable, don’t take my word for it, go check out the screen shots and the game-play video ;) Another thing that is amazing, is that there is a new class! A witch-doctor! I am not sure if witch-doctor is similar to necromancer from Diablo 2 or he is more like shaman from World of Warcraft, in any case, I am glad there is a new class. Another class that you can check out at the website is well known barbarian. It says there there will be 5 classes (2 are known) and that you will be able to choose a gender of your character, which is amazing! I am dying to see a female barbarian ;

Hello world!

I decided not to change the name of this entry because it is true! I am saying  “HELLO WORLD!” I’ve never been much of a blogger. I just had few entries here and there, but with a little bit of more work, hopefully, this blog will take off nicely!

When I start writing it is hard to slow down, so, I am stopping myself now, before it is too late! ;)
